Varpsjö fish conservation area is located about 35 km west of Åsele town.
From Åsele, take road 92 towards Dorotea and turn right at the village of Varpsjö. The area includes Stamsjöån with Latiksjön, Båthussjön, as well as Sörsjön, Baksjön and Skidsjön.

It also includes a number of smaller lakes and ponds.
The area is easily accessible and well-equipped with roads and paths and is marked with signs.

The area offers stream fishing for trout and grayling in the upper part of Stamsjöån. Skidsjön's fine waters offer fishing for trout and fine perch. In Utgrävartjärn there is a certain population of char and perch.
Baksjön and Sörsjön, which are connected to the village of Varpsjö, offer fishing for large perch and pike.
Both lakes are easily accessible by road. The area also offers ample opportunities for fishing for perch and pike in most of the lakes and ponds.

Accommodation is available for rent in the form of cottages at the community center and boats for rent in Baksjön and Skidsjön.

There are parking spaces and shelters next to the water.
Boats are available/rentable at certain waters.

 Free fishing for children and adolescents up to the age of 18.
