Åmot ligger ca 2 mil väster om Ockelbo i det natursköna västra Gästrikland. Det finns även annat man kan göra än att fiska. Ett utmärkt turistmål för hela familjen.

Vid Ljustjärn finns det en stuga man kan hyra för 500 kr/natt eller 1000 kr/vecka.

Restiden från Stockholm med bil är ca 2,5 timmar. Du tar E4-an norrut, tar av mot Ockelbo vid Hagsta. Därifrån är det 4 mil till Åmot.

Föreningen ansvarar för ett hundratal sjöar och tjärnar. Föreningen ligger långt framme ifråga om att anpassa sina vatten för funktionsnedsatta. Fiskevård är något som föreningen ständigt arbetar med och man har bl a. gjort restaureringar i Bresiljeån och Kölsjöån för ett hållbart fiske för framtiden.
