Silverån är huvudsakligen strömmande och grund med sten och sandbottnar, vattnet är klart och näringsfattigt Silveråns dalgång utgör ett relativt opåverkat vildområde som avsatt som riksintresse för naturvården.
Sjöarna som ingår i fiskevårdsområdet är näringsfattiga klarvattensjöar med sten- och grusbottnad.
Fiskearter I ån, vanligast förekommande: Öring, Elritsa och Bergsimpa I sjöarna, dominerar; Abborre, Gädda och Mört.
