The average depth of the lake is 2.7m, and is as deep as 3.7m. At the end of Ängsvägen in Rottne, there is an open boat ramp for those who want to lay in their boat.

Sörabysjöns fiskevårdsområdesförening förvaltar fisket i Sörabysjön.
Föreningens syfte är att samordna fiskets bedrivande och fiskevården, att främja fiskerättsinnehavarnas gemensamma intressen med beaktande av de föreskrifter som gäller för fiskets utövande samt att upplåta fiske till allmänheten.
