The fishery conservation area of approximately 2300ha, between Untra power plant and Älvkarleby power plant, is covered by the last large delta area of the Dalälven before the river meets the sea. We offer visitors both good fishing and nature experiences. The Båtfors nature reserve is partly affected by the fishery conservation area.
The water is rich in pike, zander and perch, but also contains many and many species of "whitefish".
Work is underway to enable sea-migrating fish to move up the Dalälven.
Good opportunities to launch your boat, among others, in Marma, Mehedeby and Lindbergsviken about 1km west of Älvkarleö.
Very varying depth conditions prevail. Everything from the old stretch of the river channel to large dammed reed areas. Our maps that we sell can be helpful in finding your way around the area.
