Flian som avvattnar Hornbogasjön är vida känt för sitt fina fiske av framförallt Id och Färna. Det finns även god tillgång på Gädda, Aborre och Mört. Ån som sträcker sig 75km varav ca 6 km inom våra fiskevatten är ett biflöde till Lidan som tar sig vidare till Vänern. Utmed sträckningen från Sjöns utskov till väg 184 (mellan Skara och Falköping) finns fina möjligheter att finna lite svårtillgängliga platser där fisket generellt är lite bättre. Annars är bästa fisket beläget direkt nedströms utskovet.

Föreningen bildades -91 som svar på när Hornborgasjöns utlopp byggdes om för att reglera vattenståndet i sjön. Den har verkat för att säkerställa en tillräcklig vattenförsörjning i ån med tillfredsställande syrenivåer.
Målet är att värna de fiskearter som har förutsättningar att leva i ån.
