Just below the first migration barrier in the Klarälven is the Forshagaforsen fishing area. Please note that from 2025 there will be no exemption fishing for trout and salmon.
The Forshagaforsen offers interesting sport fishing for several different species. Every year, several pike over ten kilos are landed. Pike fishing can be done all year round, but the largest specimens are usually taken in the autumn and spring. In late autumn and winter, many people also go hunting for the Klarälven's large salmon, and salmon over four kilos are not uncommon. Another fun fishing that can yield big fish during the spring is ide fishing. A simple and effective method for ide fishing is bottom fishing, and it is not impossible to catch ide over three kilos in the Forshagaforsen.
