At Gisshult, located along the road between Nässjö and Vetlanda, the two Gisshultasjöarna lie jutting out into the Småland terrain. The lakes are connected by a canal, which means that they have a similar composition of fish communities.
The Gisshultasjöarna are shallow, 8 meters at their deepest, with an average depth of 2.3 meters and together cover 115 hectares. The lakes are home to plenty of white fish.
