About the water

Description

Storsandsjön's FVO is a fishery management area consisting of three lakes and a number of smaller ponds; Storsandsjön_, Mjösjön and Ristjärn._

Storsandsjön The dominant fish species are perch, pike, whitefish, roach and roach. Trout have been released in several rounds and several weighing over 5 kg have been caught from the lake. Whitefish are fine and coarse perch weighing over a kilo are not uncommon. Since the lake is so large, a boat is necessary when fishing. These can be rented or borrowed in the village of Storsandsjön. Since the early 1980s, trout have been constantly released into the lake, on average every two years.

Mjösjön

Here the fish population is dominated by Perch, Pike, Roach and roach. Whitefish and trout are found in isolated specimens.

Ristjärnen

NOTE!! Right now we do not have a stock of Rainbow trout in Ristjärn so fishing is included in the regular daily/annual pass. Put and take. Fishing for rainbow trout. In addition to these species, there is perch. There is space to set up caravans by the pond. Wind shelter, barbecue areas and a disabled-accessible pier are available at the pond. The fishing premiere is usually held in mid-June. (Right now we do not have a stock of fish in the pond so fishing is included in the regular annual pass)

Other ponds

Here the fish population is dominated by Pike, Perch and Roach.
