Näcktens FVO offers free fishing for children and young people. Please read and follow the general fishing rules that apply for the area. Rules specifically for children and adolescents:

Free fishing for children and young people up to the age of 15 years.
Only in company with a keeper / adult
Valid only in certain waters or in certain places, see fishing rules / comment
Only hand held equipment
Children / Youth must be able to fish on their own (Throw / crank / fish themselves)
The keeper must have taken note of and approved the applicable fishing rules and regulations.

Näckten (eller Näkten som sjön ibland stavas) är en spännande fjällvattensjö på låglandet som har otroligt gott om siklöja, samt bland annat god tillgång på öring, röding och grov gädda.

I Näckten finns en grund övre del med fina ståndplatser för öring. Röding finns endast i den södra djupa delen av sjön. Denna röding är släkt med vätternrödingen då den övergår till en fiskdiet den 3:e våren.

Gäddorna i sjön är tunga, breda och korta.

Övernattningsstuga finns på Ytterö. Vindskydd på Älgön, Finnön, Brynjeholmen samt norr Rödbergs skattefiske.

Näcktens fiskevårdsområde förvaltar fisket i Näkten.

Plantering av öring sedan 1988, med ett antal som varierat mellan 9000 st till 30000 per år. Under 2017 planteras enbart 3200 öringar (en till tvåsomriga). Fiskevårdsområdet arbetar tillsammans med Länsstyrelsen i Jämtlands län, för att återställa öringens normala lekvatten för att på så sätt få till stånd en naturlig reproduktion.

Näkten ingår i projektet Life Triple Lakes och där ingår det bl.a. att arbeta för ett säkerställande av rödingens fortlevnad. Utsättande av lekgrund, återställande av lekplatser, information till allmänheten m.m. är ex. på aktiviteter som ingår i projektet.
