Nedre Hårkans fishing conservation area; the lower parts of this river, which has its headwaters in Norway, are mainly known for their grayling fishing, but there is also a fine trout stock that seems to be thriving and increasing in number.
Here you have the opportunity for fine fishing in a lovely environment and also the chance to catch really nice specimens of the "queen of streams" - grayling. It is not uncommon for specimens to weigh around 1 kilo, fish over 1.5 kilos are caught from time to time. Trout between 2-3 kilos and larger are caught regularly. Dragonflies dominate the menu for the fishermen in this water, which means that evening/night fishing is often the best time to fish.
Grayling fishing is normally best after midsummer and lasts until September. The stretch is suitable for fly fishing with calm currents that are easily waded in most places. Calm deeper seles that also suit the spin fisherman. Spinning fishing may also be preferable during the early season due to the high water level.
Recommended fishing spots are Medseleströmmen, Husholmen, Holmen, Oxforsen, around the island of Framstensöra, Brattstan, Hammaren and Prisgårdsbryggan.
