Åsnens FVO

The Åsnens fiskevårdsområdesförening manages the fisheries in the Åsnens fiskevårdsområdesförening in the Skatelöv and Västra Torsås parishes in Alvesta municipality, the Jäts and Kalvsvik parishes in Växjö municipality and the Almundsryd, Urshult and Väckelsång parishes in Tingsryd municipality, Kronoberg County.

The fisheries management area is divided into three management areas (North, South, East) and the association's activities shall cover all fisheries within the area.

The association's purpose is to coordinate the operation of fisheries and fisheries management, to promote the common interests of fishing right holders, taking into account the regulations that apply to the practice of fishing, and to allow fishing to the public.

Ever since the management of fisheries in Åsnen was organized, fisheries management measures have largely consisted of fish releases. The stocking was particularly intensive during the period 1930 - 1980 when the lake's fisheries associations primarily planted large quantities of eels and pike fry in the lake. However, stocking of brill, whitefish, tench, trout and signal crayfish has also occurred over the years. In the last 20-year period, the stocking program has exclusively included pike-perch, eel, mirror carp, trout and signal crayfish.   The association published a fairway map of the lake in 2014 and will also measure the depth of Åsnen in the coming years and will then have a very good fishing and boating map.
