Svenljunga Municipality is a municipality in Västra Götaland County, in the former Älvsborg County. The center is Svenljunga. The municipality is located in the southern parts of the Västergötland region. It borders Borås Municipality to the north, Tranemo Municipality to the east and Marks Municipality to the west, all in Västra Götaland County. In the southeast, the municipality borders Gislaved Municipality in Jönköping County and in the southwest, Falkenberg Municipality in Halland County. From northeast to southwest flows the river Ätran.
