Fiskevårdsområdesförening formed in 1989. The Gunnarbäcken Juktåns Nedre FVO system drains the southeastern part of Blaikfjället and the forest area between the Umeälven and Juktån rivers. Fishing has been of great importance to the population's survival since time immemorial. As early as the early 18th century, settlers from Tegsnäset and Granö traveled to these waterways and engaged in intensive fishing.
