Hönshyltefjorden's new fishing area association manages the fishing in Hönshyltefjorden.

The association's purpose is to coordinate fishing and fisheries management, to promote the common interests of fishing right holders, taking into account the regulations that apply to fishing, and to allow fishing to the public.

The vegetation in Åsnen is generally moderate, found in the shallow fjords of the lake and dominated by reeds, rushes and water lilies.
