We offer interesting and varied sport fishing, especially in the Klarälven around the Old Mill and the power station. Here is the Klarälven's largest waterfall with many exciting fishing spots. Downstream of the waterfall and behind Laxholmen is the greatest chance of catching trout and grayling. North of the large waterfall is Hästskoholmen, which can be reached via a pontoon bridge and there is a shelter and barbecue area. Hästskoholmen is a nature reserve with interesting fishing for whitefish, also perch and pike. The fishery conservation area also includes fishing in some lakes around Munkfors, including Västra Sundtjärn where Klarälven trout were introduced in 2022. Many small streams and rivers with brook trout are found, including the lower part of Ranån downstream of highway 62. A number of shelters, which were adapted for the disabled in 2022, are available around the fishing spots in Munkfors. We also have a put-and-take lake: Spraktjärn. The lake is located southeast of Munkfors, follow the arrows before the Klingevi sports field. The fishing license costs 200 SEK / date and can be purchased via Swish at the lake or at the Tourist Office or Frendo. Rainbow salmon are currently being introduced.
