The lakes within the fishery conservation area are located just under a mile southeast of Lenhovda and constitute the southwestern part of the Alsterån catchment area. The association was formed in 1994 and is an association of all owners of fishing in the lakes within the villages of Östraby, Renshult, Merhult, Johanstorp, Möcklehult and Vägershult. For Lillasjön there was a fishery conservation association since 1932 and it ceased in connection with the formation of an association for all four lakes. The lakes have been part of the Alsterån liming project since 1980, which has meant that liming has been carried out at regular intervals.
