Näckten's fisheries management area manages the fisheries in Näkten.

Trout stocking since 1988, with a number that has varied between 9,000 and 30,000 per year. In 2017, only 3,200 trout (one to two-summer old) were planted. The fisheries management area works together with the County Administrative Board of Jämtland County to restore the trout's normal spawning waters in order to achieve natural reproduction.

Näkten is part of the Life Triple Lakes project, which includes, among other things, working to ensure the survival of the char. Stocking spawning grounds, restoring spawning grounds, providing information to the public, etc. are examples of activities included in the project.
