Nimmerns FVOF has worked hard in recent years to improve the water quality at Nimmern, a project carried out in collaboration with the County Administrative Board, Kinda Municipality and Stångåns Vattenråd.

Continuous water testing and reduction fishing. Investigations of water chemistry, phytoplankton and benthic fauna. Measurements have been made of the content of phosphorus, nitrogen and oxygen as well as of visibility depth. Extensive test fishing has also been carried out to follow up on the results of the reduction fishing and to check the condition and development of the fish stock in the lake. The goal is to have improved the ecological status of the lake to not be red listed and to achieve the national goals of having good ecological status by 2027.
