The Össjasjön fishing conservation area was formed in 2008 after the lake had previously belonged to the Vänneån fishing conservation area since 1979. Before that, the Össjasjön fishing conservation association had been formed in 1936.

Pike, perch and roach are fished in Össjöasjön, Gummestasjön and Hampsjön.
