We are working to achieve high ecological status for Östra Lägern, which includes, among other things, ensuring the reproduction of freshwater pearl mussels and arranging spawning grounds for trout. 

Free waterways are now almost complete from Assjön via Västra and Östra Lägern through Bulsjöån to Sommen, thanks to exemplary efforts from Tranås Energi. This means, among other things, that the genetic material of the irrigation fish can be mixed, which eliminates the risk of inbreeding and degeneration. Today (2023) there remains one obstacle at Oppeby mill.. The design is complete and an agreement with the landowner at the dam has been signed. Permission from the landowner for the access road remains. The application for the actual loop is expected to be submitted during the first quarter.  Slightly depending on the processing times at the relevant authorities, the work can, after approval, start in the autumn.
