In 1984, the County Administrative Board called representatives of the largest lakes in the Högvadsån water system to a meeting at Överlida Hotell, with the aim of forming a fisheries management area with all waters north of the Halland border belonging to this system. An interim board was formed to pursue the issue further. The association was named Överlida FVO. In 1986, the interim board applied to the County Administrative Board to form a fisheries management area.
The purpose of the association is to safeguard the interests of fishing rights holders, conduct fish management and, not least, to make our waters accessible to the public. The goal is that everyone will be able to fish in our lakes in the future, young and old!
