The Upper Vattudalen Fishing Conservation Area was formed in 1997.

The purpose of the fishing conservation area is to coordinate fishing and fisheries conservation, promote the interests of fishing right holders, sale of fishing licenses and ensure the migration and reproduction conditions of the arctic trout.

The area is also included in the Frostviken Card and the Ströms Vattudal Trolling Card.
