The Tisnaren Western Fisheries Conservation Area Association was formed in 1989.

Tisnaren is 3763 ha (37 km2) and the fisheries conservation area covers the western parts of the lake of approximately 1800 ha. The lake has held catfish, but the last one is said to have been caught in the 1930s.

In recent years, the association has planted eels for 150,000 SEK.
