Varnum Marsjöarna's fishing conservation area was formed in 1995. The area belongs to the Viskans water system and is located in Ulricehamn and Borås municipality.

Our goal is to maintain and improve the opportunities to engage in good recreational fishing and to be able to move around with a smaller boat/canoe for everyone in our area, among other things by having an accessible pier and cutting reeds and opening up the waterways between the lakes so that it is possible to move around by boat/canoe between all lakes.

The association now owns a reed machine and we have started to recreate channels between lakes and will keep the reeds away to the extent that we have time and are able to handle. This has contributed to increased costs and that we and several other recreational fishermen are experiencing heavy pressure on fishing in the water system, which is why we have raised prices in order to be able to keep reeds down and to counteract too much pressure on pike fishing.

We have had a total fishing ban for a 3-year period between March 1st and the end of May, 2022-2024. We have done a number of test fishing in the fall of 2024 with the help of an experienced angler, who assesses that in the waters he has tested the pike show a very good condition. We in the Board think it is very fun.

We choose to reduce the time for fishing bans with the following dates, April 1st - May 31st!
