Fishing luck in the heart of Lapland! A river that begins at the outlet of Kilversjön 10 km southeast of Arvidsjaur located in the heart of Lapland and flows into Byske 30 km north of Skellefteå. The upper part of the Byske River is surrounded by a magnificent wilderness with wild animals right up to the "knot". The river has its catchment area in the forest and the water level can vary. The main channel is divided into three different parts.
The upper part: This part is home to trout and grayling. It consists of coarse boulders with deep covers and many nice places to stand. Here the grayling grows coarse and here you have the chance of your dream grayling. The trout also grows large with the help of the re-stocking stretch that runs from Kliverdammen to Graunaforsen. It can be difficult to wade here because the bottom consists of large boulders and deep holes.
The middle part: Transitions to large sels and calm water. And here, targeted fishing for large pike and perch can yield nice catches.
The lower part: This is a salmon paradise. Here the river is a little easier to wade as the bottom can consist of a little more fine-grained gravel and smaller stones. There are also rocky outcrops and deep holes. There are many nice necks and rapids all the way down to the county border.
Tributaries: The river has three tributaries included in the fishing license, which are Kilisån, Bäverån and Fräkenträskbäcken. These tributaries serve as a nursery area for smaller fish and are often very shallow. Feel free to look for fish in deeper water in the main channel.
