When purchasing a fishing license for both whitefish and salmon waters, the rules of the Swedish Fisheries Conservation Association apply and these can be found on website.
In addition to all our whitefish waters with pike, perch, zander, roach, etc., we have 10 freshwater lakes, two of which are rental lakes. For our 8 freshwater lakes, daily licenses can be purchased locally at our retailers, or via vending machines, but also online. The price applies to all 8 lakes, but the lakes have different regulations regarding gear. There is a boating ban in all PT waters except Yxtjärn where boats are available for rent at OKQ8 in Hällefors. Check this before you start fishing.
Bergtjärn
Bergtjärn is a rental lake with rainbow trout located in the Sävsjön area. It is about 20 kilometers from Hällefors. You rent alone or in a group and fish with fly, spinning or angling. There is a jetty adapted for wheelchairs, a windbreak, a fire pit hut that you can spend the night in and a dry toilet. Fishing takes place from land. Inquiries and orders are only made via the association's telephone [0705 - 41 09 80] (tel: 0705410980) (answering machine).
The booking is valid for a weekend, 48 hours. The price is 6000 SEK including 25 kg of exposed fish. You can choose to have extra exposed fish. This costs 500 SEK per 3 kg of fish.
Högborntjärn
Högborntjärn is located just south of Grythyttan, about 15 kilometers from Hällefors. It is located just a few hundred meters south of Notbindartjärn which is also a valuable fish lake. It is a small pond of 2.8 ha, but it is quite deep. There are trout, rainbow trout, smelt and tench in the lake. Fishing is done from land. Both spinning, angling and fly fishing are allowed. There are not many places where you can go out with a fly rod. There are shelters, dry toilets and jetties.
Kotjärn
Kotjärn is a small rental lake with rainbow trout located in the Sävsjön area. It is about 18 km from Hällefors to Sävsjön. The lake is just under 2 ha. There are two shelters, a jetty and two dry toilets. There are some bridges around the entire lake. Fishing is done from land. Inquiries and orders can only be made via the association's telephone 070–541 09 80 (answering machine).

Kviddtjärnarna
Kviddtjärnarna are two small waters in the Sävsjön area. Only fly fishing is allowed. Pimping on winter ice is not allowed. Total area is 1.3 ha. Wind shelter and dry toilet available. Fenced around the entire small and parts of large Kviddtjärn. Exciting fishing for rainbow trout is offered here. If you want a little change, Lilla Sandsjön is not far from here.
Lilla Sandsjön
Lilla Sandsjön is not as small as it sounds. It has an area of 11 ha. The fish are rainbow trout but there are also roach, perch and some stray pike. Spin fishing or fly fishing from land is the way to go. Lilla Sandsjön is located in the Sävsjön area, about 18 km north of Hällefors. The lake has a jetty adapted for wheelchairs, several shelters, jetties and a dry toilet. There is also a fire pit hut where you can spend the night and a hand pump for drinking water. A large parking lot for caravans/cars is located next to the lake. A few hundred meters north are the Kviddtjärnarna.
Mettjärn
Mettjärn is located in the Sävsjön area, about 18 km north of Hällefors. The lake has an area of 13 ha. There are rainbow trout and trout in the lake. Fishing is done from land with spinning, fly or angling. The lake has two windbreaks, several jetties and a dry toilet. There is a large parking lot at this lake if you want to bring a caravan/car.
Notbindartjärn
Notbindartjärn is located just south of Grythyttan, about 15 km south of Hällefors. There are rainbow trout and tench in the lake, which has an area of 3 ha. Fishing is done from land with spinning, fly or angling. There are shelters, dry toilets and jetties. A few hundred meters south along the same road is Högborntjärn.
Yxtjärn
Yxtjärn, which is located up at Älvsjöhyttan about 3.5 kilometers north of Hällefors, is the largest freshwater fish lake we have. It has an area of 20 ha. There are rental boats available here. Boat passes are sold by OK/Q8 Hällefors tel. 0591-121 10. 100 SEK/day. The fish are rainbow trout, trout and whitefish. There are also elements of perch, roach and pike. Allowed to use float rings in the lake. There are shelters and dry toilets. You can spin fish, fly fish, angling and rowing. In winter, the fishing is pimpling.
