The area includes the Kirjesån and the lake from which the river originates: Nedre Lumnien. The short fishing area is connected to Slussfors KFO by the Kirjesån flowing into the Umeälven/Uman at Slussfors.
The river is mainly inhabited by trout. To some extent, char also migrates up in connection with spawning. Grayling, rainbow trout and other species can be found at the outlet of the Kirjesån. Nedre Lumnien contains only trout and char.
