Lina River, flowing through Gällivare municipality, merges with Ängesån at Linafallet and on to Kalix River. Dokkas community offers fishing along a continuous stretch of about 20 km on the S side of the river, as well as tributaries. If you are lucky enough to catch grayling, trout or salmon (maybe pike) The easiest way to get here is by road 394, about 35 km southeast of Gällivare. At the bridgehead on the N side of the river there is a large rest area that can accommodate a number of caravans. The fishing at the bridge is excellent, but if you want to explore the rapids downstream, drive through Dokkas village, turn down towards the river following one of the forest roads. Upstream from the village of Mettä-Dokkas a forest road winds along the river in a couple of places (signposted).
In 2018-2019, fishery conservation measures were completed, upgrading and refurbishing the salmon ladder at the Linafallet, restoring spawning grounds using an excavator. In 2020, the salmon migration doubled compared to previous years. You are welcome to test your fishing luck.
