The fishery management area includes the lakes Ömmern, Ören and Nären, which cover a total area of 974 ha including some smaller lakes. The catchment area is 10,900 ha. Ömmern, Ören and Nären are lakes of varying character. Ömmern and Ören have clear water, while Ören has more humus-colored water. The lakes are nutrient-poor, so the amount of fish and their growth varies.
Ömmern, which is the largest of the lakes, is a deep lake with clear water. The lake has a normal supply of perch and pike, while trout is more sparsely available. Since there is pike perch in the lake, the conditions are right for the fish to grow large.
Ören and Nären are shallower and also have a normal supply of perch and pike.
We have no catch limit, but ask those who are not happy about eating their fish to release caught fish. We would be grateful if those who catch larger fish would report to us, preferably with pictures.
