Fishing can be done on a stretch of about 20km, from the Stadsportsgatan bridge in Karlshamn up to Norrefors. Mieån is, as the name suggests, a river but runs through several lakes, Byasjön, Bruksgölet, Långasjön, Björksjön, Skärsjön and Rudegyl, where the largest lake is Långasjön, which is about 3.5 km from south to north and has an average width of 100 meters and a maximum depth of 10 meters.
