In 1946, 23 gentlemen from the area met to form Tröskens Fiskevårdsförening u.p.a. with headquarters in Furuvik.

In the statutes of the association, Section 1, “The association, whose area of activity includes Lake Trösken in Gävle and Älvkarleby municipalities, aims to achieve improved fishing yields and to combat illegal fishing within its area”.

Today, the association conducts competitive fishing in the form of angling, ice fishing and pike fishing. The association intends to open a stream in Harnäs, which will allow migratory fish, including trout and pike perch, to come up from the sea to Lake Trösken.
