Fishing in Lake Örlen has been managed since 1943 by the Örlen Fisheries Conservation Association, which was later transformed into the Örlen Fisheries Conservation Area Association.

The purpose of the association is to coordinate fishing operations and fisheries conservation, to promote the common interests of fishing right holders, and to grant fishing rights to the public.
