The association was formed through a merger of the Malmberget and Koskullskulle hunting and fishing associations. The association was formed in 1935. The association's task is to organize people with an interest in hunting and fishing as well as in wildlife, nature and environmental conservation. The association is politically neutral. It shall work to ensure that suitable land and water areas are available to its members. MKJF's activities today are a mixture of old and new, a balance between gradually introducing a use based on ecological conditions of some of our leased waters, while maintaining the fishing itself in other waters to provide an outlet for fishing interest and relieve the pressure on the natural waters.
