Ämmerns FVO was formed in 1987. The Fiskevårdsområde association manages the fishery conservation area with the goal of promoting sustainable fishing in the long term. Members of the association are property owners who, according to a completed fishery rights investigation, own water with fishing rights within Ämmerns fishery conservation area. Some 60 properties are included in the fishery conservation area.
