Boxholms Skogar AB is one of the ten largest forest owners in the country. In total, approximately 36,000 ha are managed, of which just over 32,000 ha are productive forest land. Already in the mid-18th century, the forests around Boxholm began to have some economic importance, due to the extensive consumption of charcoal in iron processing. However, no systematic management took place until Boxholms AB was founded in 1872.
