Rules for fishing on Nedre Rudan, read these before you start fishing.
Fishing license required
- All fishing without a valid personal fishing license is prohibited by law, it is the fisherman's responsibility to check which rules apply to each lake. Generally in Sweden, fishing in lakes is not free, with the exception of the 4 largest lakes.
- Card + receipt + ID must be shown upon inspection.
Fishing ban
- Total ban 16 Nov – 31 Dec. Violation will be reported to the police.
Allowed methods
- Spinning fishing: spinner, jig or libra (odorless) spoon drag, wobbler
- Casting dobb/Bombarda: No bait.
- Fly fishing:
- Ice fishing:
- Angling: Only fishing rod (max 5 m), 1 rod/person, only with single hook. Only bait such as worm, shrimp or maggot.
Fishing rules
- Maximum 6 retained fish per person per calendar week (Monday–Sunday)
- Maximum 2 salmonid fish per day
- Maximum 3 day passes per person per week or maximum 6 morning or afternoon passes per person per week
- Pike over 90 cm must be released.
- Re-release permitted only if the fish is unharmed, with a barbless single hook, released into the water with a peang. Re-release of fish caught with a barbed hook is prohibited and may result in membership and fishing license being revoked.
Prohibited
- Crayfish fishing.
- Dead carp – must always be re-released regardless of condition, the fish must be handled with care.
- Power Bait and similar, all baits with scents
- Corn
- Mashing
- All forms of motorized aids are prohibited with the exception of ice augers.
Float ring and boat
- Only float rings with leg power are permitted and only fly fishing from float rings. It is not permitted to drag a bait after the ring.
- Boats or other floating devices (incl. canoe/rubber boat) are prohibited – only blue lights/county administrative board/municipality may use.
Membership and annual pass
In order to redeem and use an annual pass in the club, a valid membership in the association is required. Membership must be paid and active during the entire period that the annual pass is valid. As a member of the club, you also become a member of Sportfiskarna through the association. The annual pass is also valid for the member's partner/spouse/husband and children under 13 years of age, provided that the fishing is done together with the card holder.
Supervision
- Inspections are carried out daily by the club.
- Violations of the rules may result in the fishing license being revoked.
Poaching without a valid fishing license is a violation of the law that can lead to a police report and expensive fines.
