Continuous supervision of the fishing waters takes place. A valid fishing license must be carried and shown upon request by a licensed fishing inspector or a member of Jokkmokk's Hunting & Fishing. All fish that are subject to catch restrictions regarding number, type, size, etc. must be unconditionally released.
In running waters (i.e. Pärlälven, Appokälven and Purkiforsen) fishing is prohibited from 15/9-15/6. In Sör-Tjalmejaure there is a fishing ban 15/5 - 20/6 In other lakes there is a fishing ban in connection with planting, when this is announced on our website www.jaktfiskejokkmokk.se
Fishing may be done with a handheld rod with a maximum of three hooks, with the exception of trolling fishing upstream of the Messaure power plant dam where trolling fishing with an unlimited number of rods is permitted, and when the specific rules for each fishing water state that other gear is permitted. (NOTE! With the exception of the part of the Messaure reservoir that is part of Muddus Nationapark where special rules apply, see our website for details https://www.jaktfiskejokkmokk.se/fiskeregler/ ) Biological bait, i.e. worm, shrimp, etc., only permitted when fishing for icefish on frozen water. When fishing where boat fishing is prohibited, you must have a land surveyor when fishing, except when the specific rules for each water state that float fishing is permitted. Motorboat fishing ban means that all types of motors are prohibited. (i.e. even electric motors are prohibited). On the fly fishing stretch in the Pärlälven, only fishing with a fly rod is permitted. Daily and annual passes are now valid on all waters (also for trolling fishing above Messauredammen).
A maximum of three salmonid fish per person and fishing day. In the Pärlälven and Appokälven, however, a maximum of 1 trout may be included in the total catch quota. In the Pärlälven, Purkiforsen and Appokälven, a minimum size of 30 cm and a maximum size of 40 cm for salmonid fish apply. In Gäddsjön and Sör-Kierats minimum size 30cm for salmonid fish
SPECIFIC RULES FISHING WATERS:
Talvatis – Maximum three salmonid fish per person and fishing day. Boat fishing prohibited. Float fishing not permitted. Free fishing for young people until the calendar year they turn 25. as well as disability pensioners and old-age pensioners. Sörkierats – Maximum three salmonid fish per person and fishing day. Minimum size 30cm for salmonid fish. Float fishing permitted. Boat fishing prohibited. Östkierats – Maximum three salmonid fish per person and fishing day. Boat fishing without a motor permitted (all types of motors are prohibited, including electric motors). Float fishing permitted. Väst-Kierats – Maximum three salmonid fish per person and fishing day. Boat fishing prohibited. Float fishing not permitted. West-West-Kierats – Maximum three salmonids per person and fishing day. Boat fishing prohibited. Float fishing not permitted. Gäddsjön – Maximum three salmonids per person and fishing day. Minimum size 30cm for salmonids. Float fishing permitted. Boat fishing prohibited. Downstream Messaure Dam – Maximum 3 salmonids per person and fishing day. The first 1000 m downstream of Messaure Dam is prohibited. Boats with motors and float fishing permitted.
Upstream Messaure Dam – Trolling fishing with an unlimited number of rods permitted. Boat fishing with motors permitted. Float fishing permitted. Currently, there is a net fishing ban in Messaure Reservoir. NOTE!!! In the part of Messaure Reservoir that is located within Muddus National Park. (i.e. the distance approximately from Skaite down to Bárnásgårsså and approx. 500-800 m out from land, see general maps for exact limit) special fishing rules apply. i.e. total net fishing ban. Trolling permitted with a maximum of three rods / fisherman and fishing license. Max. one bait / rod. Max. six rods / boat. Max. three salmonid fish (trout / char / grayling) per fisherman and day may be kept. Minimum size 35 cm. The following lakes within the reserve: Roantja, Tjoalmejavratja, Suobbat, Amma-Tjärn, and the part of Lake Slakka that is within Serri Nature Reserve . Boat fishing and float fishing prohibited. Piertinjaure – Maximum three salmonids per person and fishing day. Boat with a motor allowed. Float fishing allowed. Sör Tjalmejaure – Maximum three salmonids per person and fishing day. Boat with a motor allowed. Float fishing allowed. Fishing ban 15/5-20/6.
Pärlälven, Appokälven and Purkiforsen
– Fishing ban during 15/9 – 15/6. – Max 3 salmonid fish (NB!
