The permit in the area concerns fishing with hand gear. Fishing permits, which are personal, are sold in the form of day passes for 50 SEK, weekly passes for 200 SEK and annual passes for 500 SEK. Young people under 17 years of age fish for free. Trolling fishing is limited to 4 fishing gear/bait at the same time per boat. A maximum of 10 fishing tackles are counted as hand gear. Draglines are counted as hand gear if the motor is folded up or missing. Annual permits are valid for 365 days.
Fishing rules
§ Fishing permits are valid for spinning, angling, fly fishing, ice fishing, trolling and ice fishing/fishing gear.
§ Fishing permits are valid for a maximum of 2 rods per person. When ice fishing or angling, 6 tackles may be used.
§ Trolling fishing is limited to 4 fishing tackles/bait at the same time per boat.
§ For species with window extraction, all fish that are smaller than the minimum size or larger than the maximum size must be immediately released back into the water.

§ All salmon that have been released must be immediately released back.
§ Eel fishing is prohibited and all eels must be released back when caught by-catch.
§ Catching catfish is prohibited according to the fishing ordinance. All catfish must be released
§ Trout and salmon are protected during the period 15 September to 31 December and directed fishing for these species is prohibited during this period.
§ Zander is protected during the period 15 May to 30 June and directed fishing for zander is prohibited during this period.
§ Children and young people under 17 years of age fish freely, taking into account the rules of the fisheries management area.
§ Trolling is prohibited between the piers in Gropahålet and from the fisheries management area's border to the sea in Åhus harbour to the old bridge in Åhus.
§ It is prohibited to use echo sounders with live transducers when fishing in the area. The prohibition includes technology where fish and bait can be seen in real time, such as Live Scope, Active Target and Mega Live.
§ An inspection fee of SEK 1,000 is applied in case of violation of the fisheries management area's rules.
§ The fishing license is valid for fishing from the Helgeån river's outlet into the sea up to Torsebro with the following exceptions and taking into account the rules for bird protection areas.
- All fishing in Mjöån is prohibited
- Fishing is prohibited at the storage building in Torsebro.
- For safety reasons, all fishing is prohibited between the stone bridge in Torsebro and up to the power plant.
§ It is prohibited to stay in the following bird protection areas from March 15 to July 15 due to nesting birds:

I.
The entire eastern arm of the Helgeån river from the height of the Lillö castle ruin (bridge) to the southern tip of Blackan and the eastern half of the river from the southern tip of Blackan to the Härlösängaledsbron. Fishing from land or boat is not permitted during the period March 15-July 15 (nesting birds). Partly belongs to the Isternäset nature reserve.
II.
Northeast of a line drawn from Stenholmen (south of Hammarslund) to Ålören (west bank of Håslövs ängar). Fishing from land or boat is not permitted during the period 15 March-15 July (nesting birds).
III. From Ålören (west bank of Håslövs ängar) to Håslövs ängar bird tower. Fishing from boat closer to land than 100 meters is not permitted during the period 15 March-15 July (nesting birds). Fishing from land is prohibited 15 March-15 July due to a ban on entry in the Håslövs ängar nature reserve.
IV. East of a line drawn from Håslövs ängar bird tower to the church tower in Rinkaby. Fishing from land or boat is prohibited during the period 15 March-15 July (nesting and resting birds).
V.
On the west side of the Hammarsjön outlet, 300 meters northwest and 250 meters out into the lake. Fishing from land or boat is not permitted during the period 15 March-15 July (nesting birds).
VI.
East side of Helgeån from Graften to the beginning of the forest about 500 meters downstream. Fishing from land is not permitted during the period 15 March-15 July (nesting birds).
