Fishing rules – Ottnarens Fiskevårdsförening
General
The fishing license is only valid for recreational fishing for personal use. All catch is intended for personal consumption. Sale or other commercial use of caught fish is prohibited.
Fishermen are obliged to follow applicable rules and show consideration for nature, wildlife and other fishermen.
Prohibited methods
The following are not permitted:
- Echo sounders with real-time display of fish and bait, for example:
- LiveScope
- Active Target
- Mega Live
- Side paravanes
- Crayfish fishing (prohibited all year)
Time restrictions
- May 1 – June 15
- All fishing from floating vessels (boats, rafts, etc.) is prohibited
- Fishing from land and pier is permitted
- From ice breaking up until and including June 15
- Trolling and vertical fishing are prohibited
Fish from ice
- Fishing from ice requires a Boat Fishing License
- 24-hour license Hand gear does not apply to ice fishing
Catch limit – Pike-perch
- Max 2 pike-perch per person per day
- Minimum size: 45 cm
- Maximum size: 70 cm
- Pike perch that do not meet the size requirements must be immediately released
- All releases must be handled with care
Nets and longlines
- Prohibited during the period:
- 1 May – 31 August
- During the ice period
- From 1 September only nets with mesh size at least 50 mm may be used
- Marking:
- All nets and gear must be marked with highly visible orange fishing ball
- Minimum diameter: 23 cm
- Marking must contain:
- Fishing license number
- Name
- Telephone number
Permitted gear
- Hand gear
- Fishing tackle: max 15 pcs
- Alternatively one (1) of the following:
- Märde / roach hut
- Bait net
- Bottom-set longline with max 100 hooks
Rules for Hedgehog
- Children up to 11 years fish for free when accompanied by a paying adult
- Youth card 12–17 years:
- Max 3 fish per person per day
- The restriction applies to all species, unless otherwise stated
Fishing card types
24-hour card – Hand gear
- 1 (one) hand gear
- Applies only to fishing from:
- Land
- Jetty
- Does not apply to ice fishing
Boat fishing card
- Required for:
- Fishing from a boat
- Fishing from ice
- Does not apply during the period 1/5 – 15/6
Permitted gear (max one alternative):
- Angler rod: max 15 pcs
- 1 pc bream / roach house
- 1 pc bait net
- Bottom-set longline, max 100 hooks
- Net, max 30 meters
Children and young people
- Young people up to 16 years fish for free with hand gear
- Only fishing from shore or pier
- Trolling and vertical fishing are not allowed
Fishing competitions
Fishing competitions must:
- Be registered in good time
- Be approved by the association before implementation
