General fishing rules for Svedje–Västanede-Övsjö FVO.

We apply a control fee. Violation of the rules below will result in a control fee being charged. The maximum amount for the control fee is 10% of the price base amount for the year. (58800 SEK for 2025)

  1. Maximum two rods per fishing license. Exception for children up to 16 who fish on a guardian's fishing license. In this case, 1 rod per fisherman applies. Example: Guardian and 1 child may use 2 rods together. Guardian and 2 children may use 3 rods together.
  2. Maximum 3 game fish per day and fishing license. This also applies when children fish on a guardian's fishing license. Together, guardian and child may catch 3 game fish. When 3 game fish have been caught, a new card must be issued in order to continue fishing. It is not allowed to continue fishing but to apply catch and release, for example.
  3. All game fish under 30 cm must be released REGARDLESS of whether it is viable or not.
  4. All fishing license holders are required to let supervisors look in areas where it is possible to store fish. This can be, for example, bags, sumps, crates, tents but also other things. This also applies to locked areas.
  5. Live bait from other lakes is not allowed. All use of roe is also prohibited in the waters of the fishery conservation area. All types of mash are prohibited in the ponds of the Deep Lakes group.
  6. The maximum size of pike in ALL waters is 70 cm. Fishing must be conducted in a way that enables the pike to be returned alive.
  7. ONLY Catch-and-release on pike in HEMSJÖN in 2025. All pike must be released regardless of size.

Rules regarding boats and other vessels

Boats may be used on all waters except on Djuptjärn, Österholmtjärn, Västerholmtjärn and Älgkalvtjärn. However, float rings are allowed on these ponds, see below. Special rules apply to float rings: Float ring anglers give way to those fishing from land Approved float rings must be designed as a "traditional" float ring and be propelled by paddling with your feet. If the float ring is propelled with oars, it is considered a boat. This is not permitted. No type of motor is permitted. Own boats, inflatable boats, canoes and kayaks, etc. are not permitted on the deep pond group. If you want to use, for example, an iCROSS or other variants of float rings that are not "traditional", you must first contact FVOF and get approval from us either on our Facebook page or by calling or texting 0725 - 29 44 73.
