Applicable regulations for Sport Fishing

In addition to national fishing regulations, the regulations below apply to fishing within the Sommens Fiskevårdsområde from 2023-01-01. For Sport Fishing in the lake a fishing license is required. The fishing license is personal but also applies to a husband, wife or cohabitant. It is of utmost importance that the person's name is stated in the comments field when purchasing a fishing license.

Fishing may not be conducted closer than 50 meters from a pier or plot and also not in the vicinity of exposed nets or gear. Young people up to the age of 15 are allowed to fish without a fishing license, but with the same regulations that apply to the lake.

Membership also gives the right to a fishing rod max. 15 hooks, longlines max. 50 hooks, nets for bait fish and a roach hut on the water belonging to Boxholms Skogar AB on section 1. NOTE! Only within the marked area on the map.

Conservation periods and areas

Fishing for trout and char is permitted from 1 January to 15 September throughout the lake. If any of these species are caught during the conservation period, the fish must be released back into the lake regardless of condition. Fish that are released back into the lake must be monitored until they have left the water surface.

During the period 16 September-31 December, all fishing is prohibited within conservation areas 1-5. All fishing is prohibited during the period 15 April to 15 May at the sable spawning grounds as marked on the map.

Note the new conservation areas with a total fishing ban at the mouths of the Svartån and Bulsjöån rivers.
