There are separate fishing licenses for Medtsugeån and Saxsjön. Fishing licenses are valid for fishing with a rod in Medstugeån within marked boundaries and in Saxsjön. The holder of the fishing license agrees to follow the fishing rules that are posted. The fishing license is personal and cannot be transferred. Fishing licenses are only sold to residents of Medstugan's hostel. Fishing in Medstugeån is open from June 1st to August 31st and fishing in Saxsjön all year round. Fishing with a rod and a maximum of 2 hooks is permitted. Only fish in the size range of 30 -45 cm may be taken care of. Daily catch/bag limit is a maximum of 3 fish. Only fishing from shore is permitted. Roe or live bait may not be used as bait. Avoid catching small fish (under 30 cm). If this is the case, be careful when releasing. Wet your hand before you carefully grab the fish, unhook it and release the fish back into the water. Stress the fish as little as possible. The same procedure applies when catching large fish (over 45 cm). This measure is important for continued good fishing in Medstugeån. For Saxsjön, the daily catch/bag limit is 5 fish. Fishing permits also apply to accompanying youth under 16 years of age (2 children/youth per card).
