Minimum fish size (from tip of snout to tip of tail fin) for the species listed below: Salmon 50 cm Fishing allowed June 1 - August 31 Remember that it takes 3-7 years for a fish to reach spawning age. Trout 35 cm Banned September 1 - October 14 Do this if you happen to catch a fish that is too small: Leave the fish in the water, moisten your hand before carefully picking up the fish, loosen the hook and release it carefully again. Gray 35 cm Banned April 15 - May 31. Note! When fishing for salmon and trout in Kalix River, it is limited to a maximum of 1 fish per day, female salmon must be released back into the watercourses. Trout smaller than 35 cm and larger than 45 cm must be released into the watercourses. Fishing methods: Pigtail fishing is prohibited in the streams. All jerk fishing and fishing with an otter board are prohibited. When fishing with a tow or cast line, you may have a total of three hooks or/flies. When fishing from a boat, a maximum of one rod per person applies, take into account those fishing from land. Fishing with nets, bream and russ is only permitted in lakes Saivo/Laurijärvi (maximum 2 nets per family and maximum one bream/russ) the buoys must be marked with your name.
