To hold a membership, you must be a fishing right holder or be a spouse or child (up to 18 years of age) of this person, or be a permanent resident in the area or have a holiday home in the area.
All fishing that is not specified according to the regulations below is prohibited! You get the following rights with your membership:
1. You may fish with a maximum of 4 nets (120 m)/day in the entire fishing management area (except in Makaure, see below) including what is considered flowing water (see map on the internet or notice boards) until September 1st. From 1/9 you may fish with an unlimited number of nets and without restriction on mesh size south of the stream area. North of the stream area you may fish with four nets after 1/9. If several members help each other with the fishing, you may each fish with 4 nets. In Makaure, members may fish with a maximum of four nets/member (total of 120 meters of net) throughout the year. When net fishing in Makaure, the nets must have a minimum mesh size of 12 turns, i.e. 50 mm/half mesh. Net fishing for herring is, however, permitted all year round within the entire FVO. Net fishing from ice is permitted for you as a member of Makaure. The net fishing area is marked in the terrain and on the map.
2. You may fish with a seine.
3. You may fish with a maximum of 10 minnows/Russians.
4. You may fish with a maximum of 4 hand gear and trolling equipment per boat in the entire water area during the summer season. You may fish with an otter equipped with three flies per boat outside flowing water. However, fishing with a surface-going side paravan is not permitted.
Other general rules and instructions:
• Minimum size: Trout 40 cm. Grayling 30 cm. • NOTE! The Båtsabæk is protected from all fishing except during the period from 1/7 to 31/7. Members and annual pass buyers are allowed to fish in the stream during this time. Only fly fishing is allowed (fly rod or fly cast with a maximum of 3 flies/rod and one rod/angler). Catch and release for trout. For grayling, the minimum size applies (30 cm). In the event of high water temperatures and low water levels, fishing may be canceled
• You must clearly mark your nets at both ends with your name. Even bream/crucian carp must be marked with the name of the person fishing.
• There is a fishing ban in flowing waters from 1 September until the fishing season opens in early June.
In addition to the above-mentioned rules, the Fishing Act (1993:787) and the Ordinance (1994:1716) on fishing, aquaculture and the fishing industry apply as basic regulations.
Remember that as a fisherman you are always obliged to find out what rules apply to the area where you are fishing!
