Through Långåfisket, Långå FVOF offers varied, close-to-nature sport fishing with the prized fish trout, char, grayling and whitefish as well as pike, perch and rainbow trout. The rules are simple and apply everywhere in the area to everyone who fishes. Fishing rights holders, villagers and cottage owners have the same rules with some additions. We want you to also follow our recommendations and then contribute to good fishing in the future! Together we will preserve, care for and use the fishing resources we have! A warm welcome!

WARNING The water flow in Ljusnan can unexpectedly increase quickly and become very strong!

RULES that you must always follow

  • VALID FISHING LICENSE must always be with you and be able to show it. Children fish for free until they turn 16. FISHING WITH ONE ROD AT A TIME is the only permitted fishing method and applies to fly fishing (max. 3 hangers, also applies to spinning flies), spinning, trolling, angling and ice fishing.
  • LIVE BAIT FISH is absolutely prohibited always and everywhere, among other things to protect our healthy waters.  NOTE! Fishing with live fish as bait is prohibited everywhere and always!
  • MINIMUM DIMENSION for game fish such as trout, char, grayling and whitefish is 25 cm. PIKE over 80 cm should be released as a fishery conservation measure to avoid expanding the pike population even further.  All fish under minimum size must be released without damage. Any damaged fish under minimum size must be killed and released.
  • WINDOW TAKES on the fly fishing stretches in Anån and Mittån. Max 2 trout per short day in the range 30 – 40 cm
  • Quotated Fly Fishing Routes in Anån and Mittån - for the entire Mittån upstream of Grundsjön and for the entire Anån from Grundsjön to the border of the fishery management area, special quotated fly fishing permits apply. For the fly fishing routes in Mittån and Anån, a max of 2 trout per short day in the range 30 – 40 cm applies. Barbless hooks.

6 permits per day in Mittån and 4 permits per day in Anån during the period 1 June to 31 August. The permit is valid for one person with a rod in hand! Fishing permits are only sold through Jan-Olof Östberg 076-106 46 98

  • Långåljusnans stream stretches are now open from Rändhån to Lake Orten. Fly fishing with catch & release, C&R, applies here for all trout in the coming years as the rebuilding of the natural trout population is underway. The general fishing license applies. When fly fishing in the Långåljusnan stream upstream of the Rändhån to Lake Orten including Strömhuvudet, all trout must be released unharmed. Barbless hooks. Skälingshån is not included in the fly fishing route.
  • Grundsjön - General catch restriction for char in Grundsjön to three char (Grundsjöröding) per person and day.
  • Fishing right holders and villagers - There are no changes to the special rules that apply to fishing right holders and villagers. Fishing right holders have the right to household fishing without catch restriction (other than for Grundsjöröding at certain announced times).
  • FISHING BAN applies during the fish's spawning season and may be temporarily imposed to protect the stocks. Grayling spawning season is April and May. All waters have a fishing ban from September 1 to October 31, except Långå-Ljusnan, Skaltjärn, Stortjärn (Långå) and Sångtjärn. Grundsjön has a fishing ban from September 1 to November 15, and from May 10 until summer fishing opens, Friday 01:00 one week before midsummer. For the midstream downstream of Grundsjödammen on the lower side of Hovdebron, a FISHING BAN applies up to and including the outlet in Långåljusnan. The stretch is protected for natural reproduction of the local population of Ljusnan trout as part of the fisheries conservation association's trout project.
  • REPORT CATCHES (species, weight, length, sex), fishing location, fishing method, type of bait and other things that are important for Långå FVOF's planning and fisheries management. Report via email: info@langafisket.se
  • BOAT MOTOR may only be used in Långå-Ljusnan, Orten (Ulften) and Grundsjön.
  • WORM - Långå FVOF allows fishing with worm as bait in lakes, ponds and calm waters in Långåljusnan (NB not stream stretches) as well as in streams and smaller watercourses. Examples of these are Blästrebäcken, Rändan, Gruckan, Hemsjöbrynnet, Stöptjärnbäcken, Mittån downstream of Grundsjödammen, Unsån, Gangeltjärnbäcken and Lakatjärnbäcken.

Recommendations that we want you to follow

  • You have a GOOD REPUTATION & ETHICS as a fisherman. Use it with consideration for the fish, nature and other anglers. A “clear conscience” is part of your fishing happiness and your fishing memories!
  • TAKE YOUR FISH that you need for the day, e.g. 3 fish per day. Put the rest back. This gives more fish the chance to grow big and create a new generation. And feel free to catch your record fish of a lifetime! Do not take more fish than you need for the day from waters that have no restriction rules.
  • HOOKS without barbs make it easier for you to release the fish without damage. Clamp the barb down with pliers. Preferably use barbless hooks in all waters. Applies to all types of hooks.
  • CATCH & RELEASE Catch, gently drill and release the fish so that it can be released without damage.
  • TURN ORDER means that you start upstream, make a couple of casts and move a couple of steps downstream.  Change fishing spot if there are others who want to try “Your” spot.
  • FLYTRING and BOAT can be used except in Anån/Mittån and if you do not disturb other fishermen.
  • LIFE JACKET properly put on can save your life! Mobile phone in waterproof case is good! Watch out for winter ice!
  • LIBBING or DOCUMENTS ARE NEVER ACCEPTED and are against Långå FVOF's rules! It is never allowed to throw away, hide or bury packaging, textiles, glass, metal, plastic, fishing lines or food waste. Fish guts may be left in nature if they are free of parasites, e.g. tapeworms.

You are required to have information about current fishing regulations which can be found at www.langafisket.se. Violations of the rules result in a control fee (Act 1981:533). All fishing is done at your own risk.

CONTROL FEE

The Fisheries Inspectorate has the right (LAG 1981:533) to issue a control fee of SEK 2,225 to fishermen who violate the rules within Långå FVO. The fee is issued on site and must be paid within 14 days, after which the matter can be submitted to Collection. NOTE: This is not a fine, but a control fee.
