Rules for fishing in Ljungsjön near Ljungby

Fishing permits in Ljungsjön are obtained by purchasing a fishing license. Fishing licenses can be purchased as a 24-hour license (valid for 24 hours) or an annual license (valid for one year from the date of printing). Prices: 24-hour license = 100 SEK. The validity period of the fishing license is stated on the card.

The fishing license must be presented when requested by a supervisor.

A person who is caught fishing without a fishing license will be reported for illegal fishing.

A person who is caught fishing with prohibited gear will be reported for illegal fishing.

All caught fish must be released back into the water regardless of the condition of the fish. Even seriously injured fish must be released back into the water. Fish must not be killed.

When fishing, a net with a knotless net, a large unhooking mat and a water container (bucket or similar) must be available. The net and mat must be sized appropriately for the type of fishing you intend to do.

Fishing may only be done with hand gear and only one rod per fisherman, regardless of whether you are bottom fishing, float fishing, stalking or fly fishing. Only angling and fly fishing are permitted. Spinning fishing, jig fishing, ice fishing and ice fishing are not permitted.

Fishing must be done within a reasonable casting distance - common sense applies and respect other fishermen.

Boats or Bait Boats are not permitted.

Never leave your rod unattended.

When feeder and bottom fishing, only sliding rigs are permitted (sink or swimfeeder must slide freely on the main line). All forms of bolt rigs (fixed sinkers or feeders) are prohibited. All forms of leaders and leadcore leaders are prohibited. Anti Tangle Tubing is permitted.

Mashing and pre-mashing with bread-based mash, pellets and particle baits are permitted. All particle baits that are not ready for use, directly from the manufacturer, must be soaked for at least 24 hours and boiled for at least 30 minutes.

Bagging of fish may only be done for a short time in preparation for possible weighing and photography. The fish must be secured properly in a bankstick and checked regularly.

For competition angling, a keepnet with a length of at least 4 meters may be used.

Camping is prohibited. Parasols may be used.

Collect all garbage in a bag and take it home with you after fishing - regardless of whether it is you who littered or another angler.

Children up to and including 16 years of age fish for free when accompanied by a guardian if the guardian has obtained a fishing license.

It is the responsibility of every fisherman to read and follow the rules that apply to fishing in Ljungsjön. All information is available at www.ifiske.se and on the information board by the wind shelter.

Västra Kronobergs Metklubb has decided at a board meeting to charge a control fee of 4000 SEK for people who engage in illegal fishing in Ljungsjön. Illegal fishing means fishing that is contrary to applicable fishing regulations.
The control fee is supported by current legislation LAG 1981:533 on Fishing Conservation Areas. In addition, rules for statutory fishing supervision apply according to section 47 of the Fisheries Act (1993:787). Fishing supervisors also have the right to seize fish and fishing gear. Illegal fishing in Ljungsjön is always reported to the police.
