The Varpan fishing management area includes all waters within the red marked area on the map. The red marked watercourses within the area, i.e. Lill-Bjursen, Stor-Bjursen, Svarttjärnen, Rackeltjärnen, Sätterbotjärnen, Stensjön, Karlsbotjärnen, Skogsmyran, Kalven, Lilla Åltjärnen, Igeltjärnen, Uvbergstjärnen, are NOT included in the fishing management area. Djuptjärn, Rogsån, Stångtjärn and Åltjärn are leased out and are NOT included in the waters you are allowed to fish in with a Varpan FVOF fishing license.
Rowing boat in Varpan 2026
In collaboration between Varpan Fvof and Gullnäsgården, Stennäset, Falun, fishermen can rent a rowing boat for fishing in Varpan between 16/6 and 16/8 at a discounted price, currently 99 SEK per day. The rowing boat is located at Gullnäsgården, Gamla Grycksbovägen 62 in Falun, and can be booked via the website gullnasgarden.se/kanoter och roddbåt or by phone 072 152 59 97 The rowing boat is rented per day, weekdays between 10:00 and the next day 10:00 (Sunday 12:00) and Sunday between 12:00 and the next weekday 10:00. Enter the discount code Fiske when booking the rowing boat to get the right price. Life jackets are included in the rental. Fishing licenses are purchased via iFiske.se and remember to enter the day and time when the card will be valid. First check on gullnasgarden.se that the boat is available, then buy a fishing license via iFiske.se and then book the boat immediately and enter the fishing license number in the message field. In connection with rowing boat rental, the 24-hour card is valid from 10:00 on the day the card is purchased and until 10:00 (Sunday 12:00) the following day.
Please remember that Gullnäsgården is an alcohol- and drug-free environment. Please clean the fish when you have landed, but do not leave fish cleaning and garbage at Gullnäsgården.
Starter fishing packages for young people between 6 and 12 years of age for 2026.
To promote interest in fishing among young people, Varpans fvof, in collaboration with Jaktia, Falun, will distribute starter fishing packages to young people according to the regulations below. Varpans fvof will distribute a maximum of 30 starter fishing packages, worth 1,250 SEK, between May 1 and November 1, 2026 The starter package includes a 6-foot spinning rod, spinning reel, fishing line*, tackle and line. * Optional tackle at a maximum cost of 70 SEK is included, other parts cannot be exchanged.
- To collect the starter pack, the guardian together with the youth must contact Jaktia in Falun.
- To obtain a starter pack, the guardian of the youth must obtain or have obtained a digital fishing license or annual fishing license in Varpans fvof earlier in the year.
- Fishing licenses can only be obtained by owners of fishing waters within Varpans fvof's area.
- Starter packs can be obtained by youth from the year they turn 6 and up to the year they turn 12.
- The starter pack can only be obtained once per youth.
- The starter pack can only be obtained once per family and year.
- The guardian must present valid identification and digital annual license/fishing license for fishing within Varpans fvof's waters.
- To receive a starter pack, a form must be filled out and signed for at Jaktia.

Public fishing with a fishing license
Fishing licenses are purchased digitally via www.ifiske.se. Fishing licenses must be brought with you when fishing and presented upon request.
Fishing licenses are personal. Children and young people fish for free until the calendar year they turn 16.
PRICE: Annual license: 1 January- 31 December - 350 SEK. Weekly license 150 SEK. Daily license 50 SEK.
Fishing licenses are valid in the entire fishery management area with the exception of Djuptjärn, Rogsån and Stångtjärn.
The fishing license is only valid for fishing with hand gear as follows: Max. 2 rods per fishing license. When fishing with a moving motorized boat, a maximum of 2 rods/card, but a maximum of 4 rods/boat. Pikes over 90 centimeters must be released immediately. A maximum of 15 angelfish when ice fishing. Only bait with dead bait from the same water area. A water area is delimited by obstacles to fish migration.
All catches should be reported via iFiske.
