When releasing fish, the fish must be handled in such a way that damage to the fish is minimized. This means that the fish is handled with wet hands, pulled up and released as quickly as possible and if possible unhooked in the water, but if this is not possible, larger fish should not be lifted by the head or tail. When fishing where the purpose is to release the fish, the necessary tools for gentle handling should be at hand.
Ringsön's fishing association recommends not fishing with bait at depths greater than 9 meters if the intention is to release the fish. As with temperatures above 20 degrees, the greatest caution should prevail, for the survival of the fish.
3.5 Fishing license or i-fishing control number must always be carried on a fishing trip and can be shown to the police or supervisor upon request. The cards must be redeemed before fishing begins. When checking fishing licenses, the tools must be taken up in order to facilitate the control.
