Rules 2019

A card (personal or family) entitles you to hand gear fishing for fish with a total of maximum of two rods at the same time when casting, angling, bottom fishing and when trolling while rowing. Youth under 15 years of age may fish without a card (fee). However, accompanying elderly person must bring their own card. In addition, angling is permitted with a maximum of ten (10) pieces of gear from ice. The angling gear must be clearly marked with name and telephone number.

NOTE!

For a special fee, the card also entitles you to trolling (with a motorized boat) with a maximum of four (4) lures per card and to vertical fishing. The card does not entitle you to fishing for sale.

Fishing area

The fishing card covers Lake Väringen within the boundaries (with x marked lines) that are on the map. In the terrain at the lake's outlet into the Arbogaån, there are also clearly visible white boundary markings on land and in the water. Fishing may not be conducted closer than 75 meters from the shoreline towards the mainland or island, nor on cross-marked ground south of the oxholmarna. However, fishing is permitted along the reeds where the edge of the reeds is more than 75 meters from land. Note: The 75-meter rule exists, among other things, to enable and protect the water owners' own fishing with outstanding mobile and fixed gear and to avoid disturbances of all kinds on plots facing the water. If the above rules are violated, the fishing right is forfeited. Exceptions to the 75-meter rule: it is permitted to fish in the strait south of Kägleholm outside 30 meters from the shore/shoreline from Kofothällen in the west to Kägleholmsbron in the east and to fish from a boat right up to the shore in Arrudviken to the mouth of the Dyltaån west of dotted line on the map between Stora and Lilla Lövholmen. Ice fishing may be done all the way to the shore, if it is not done closer to land than 75 meters.

Non-permitted gear is

Flying otters (does not refer to so-called paravans intended to bring out or down the sinking line), protruding so-called pike-perch cubes, scissors, nets, baits and cages of various kinds. However, in winter it is permitted to catch bait fish for angler fishing in a designated bait, marked with name and telephone number.

Window outlet

Perch: max 38 cm; Pike: min 45 cm, max 75 cm; Zander: min 45 cm, max 75 cm.

Catch quota

A maximum of 4 caught zander per card and 24 hours. Hooked asp must be released immediately.

The fishing card and identification must be carried when fishing and must be shown upon request by the supervisor or water owner, otherwise the fishing right may be forfeited and a police report may be made. If a valid card is missing, the supervisor has the right to confiscate the fishing gear, the catch and, under certain circumstances, also the boat and to levy a special inspection fee.

Family refers to people who permanently live at the same address and share a household.
